Buy Nothing Day - Outcomes

"Creative ways of disrupting / interacting with the process of buying that makes people think of the consequences of consumerism."

I asked each individual to calculate the total cost of their outfit they were wearing on the day.
I compiled all of the pictures together to create a photo montage which I think is quite effective in persuading the audience to reduce spending.

 for 'Buy Nothing Day'.

this is my favourite outcome, i think its the most simplistic yet meaningful campaign poster. the image effects alongside the typography and colours is contemporary and attractive.

i think that this campaign poster makes you look twice, 'shop less live more' is almost a subliminal message from the colours merging together with the photograph. the message up the side leads your eyes through the whole poster and the black line leads you down to the simplistic 'buy nothing day' text.

during the group crit, people in my group mentioned that some things would be better if they were slightly altered. i have changed the black backgrounds to be more obviously 'slanted' so that the effect looks like it is on purpose. i have also included a logo for the tagline 'cut consumerism' which i think is quite striking.
